Sensory Overload!

This week's suggestions are all free and sure to delight the eyes, ears, nose and palette.

1. On Tuesday, March 16, Gallery5 is hosting a potluck dinner followed by a showing of the feature film documentary Heavy Metal in Baghdad. The potluck dinner is at 6 pm and the film begins at 7 pm.

2. Also on Tuesday, March 16, Miramar is playing at Balliceaux restaurant. Miramar is influenced by traditional Latin American songs, following in the footsteps of the great Puerto Rican troubadours of the 1950's and 60's. They perform classics and originals - Richmond is lucky to have them! The show begins at 9:30 pm and, as always at Balliceaux, it's free. Add some rum to your evening if you're looking for the full Miramar experience (most certainly not free but certainly more fun).

3. To cap off your week, venture to River City Cellars in Carytown where on Thursday evening, March 18, they offer a free beer tasting and on Friday evening, March 19, a free wine tasting. Tastings are from 5 pm to 7 pm and River City Cellars is located at 2931 W Cary St.

Note: Keep your eyes peeled for the opening of Secco Wine Bar! They are located next to (and owned/operated by the same group as) River City Cellars and will be opening soon.
