Couldn't We Ride Follow-Up

I checked out Quirk Gallery's handmade bike exhibition (via previous blog post) at First Fridays this past Friday and it was fantastic! By far the best exhibit on the art walk, in my opinion. Definitely check it out if you have a chance. The title of the exhibit is Couldn't We Ride and features hand made works ranging from track frames to custom leather seats to biker photography.

I can appreciate these bikes the same way I can enjoy a great piece of architecture. The same ideas are present as in a building - structure, materiality, joinery, etc. This exhibition could be called The Architecture of Bicycles if you ask me (yeah, big nerd). Don't miss the hand carved leather seats or the custom metal gear covers! Also, I really want NEED this (sold at Quirk).

Can't wait to check this out when I'm back in town. Custom-made bikes and bunny pillows...this blog is blowing my mind.
