A New Chapter

I've given this a lot of thought and have decided to share something very personal. So here it is - I was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer last month (yep, I'm only 27). I'm feeling really good though, and am excited to tackle this major life challenge in front of me. Post-surgery, I'm technically cancer free with no long-term impacts or changes to my health. The oncologist is recommending three quick and intense 21 day cycles of preventative chemotherapy to make sure we purge my body of any hidden cancer cells.

So that's what I'll be doing for the next few months. Unfortunately I'll be participating a lot more in the world of cancer than in the happenings of Richmond, which certainly impacts the blog. While Minimalist will not turn into a cancer blog, I am finding a lot of amazing free resources for people with cancer that I'd like to share at some point. I'll also probably do a few special posts on tips for being organized in times of health crisis/issues. Believe me, it really helps! Otherwise, my lovely co-writers will be keeping the blog stocked with our usual content when I don't have the energy to write.

And hey, having no hair is more minimal than having hair, right?
