Now through January 29
This upcoming week is the last week that Tristin Lowe's Mocha Dick exhibit will be on display at the VMFA. The life size replica of the albino sperm whale that terrorized early 19th century whaling vessels near Mocha Island in the South Pacific is incredible. "This project was like the story of Moby-Dick - embarking on a journey, transfixed by the call of the sea," Lowe says. "It is not about Ahab's quest for revenge, and not even about the whale itself, but more about Ishmael's search for the unattainable."
If you see the Minimalist team out and about this weekend, introduce yourself! We'd love to meet more of our readers and gain your feedback on what you'd like to see from us in 2012.
Have fun and stay safe Richmond!
