Let's get a little cozy.
I was relaxing at Lamplighter this afternoon with friends Brenda and Scott, two of the most positive and energetic people I know. Naturally, it was a good time. Brenda asked how the job search was coming and I expressed my sense of uncertainty regarding what direction I should take my career (and life) in. This is unusual for me - I've always known what I wanted and have managed to achieve it up until now. That's when Scott brought up the astrological concept of Saturn Return.
Straight from Wiki:
"The Saturn Return is an astrological phenomenon that occurs at the ages of 27-30, 58-60, 86-88, etc, coinciding with the time it takes the planet Saturn to make one orbit around the sun. The first Saturn Return is famous because it represents the first test of character and the structures a person has built their life upon. It is not uncommon for relationships and jobs to end during this time of life restructuring and reevaluation. But the Saturn Return is not all about painful endings. During this time astrologers note that goals are consolidated and people tend to gain a better vision of where they are going in life."
I'm 27, and this concept feels right on the mark for me. Astrology aside, many of us have experienced major life upheavals and redefinitions through this recession. Sometimes having a comfortable pattern broken can be a good thing, though. Perhaps I am moving closer to my "Omega Kristen" vision of myself - completely naked in an empty apartment with no belongings. Minimalist to the max.

Kristen, even with your uncertainty in some aspects of life, you still manage to inspire and motivate me to take action, get moving and even cross something off my imaginary list. Good times follow good people. Much love.
